This is my first attempt at hand applique - I started small!

Each individual flower which makes up the Geranium head is held in place with 3 French Knots. For the veins on the Geranium leaves I used 2 strands of DMC thread.
Still not too sure whether I am going to make it into a small wall hanging or a cushion cover. I also thought of adding binding made out of the buttermilk fabric to frame it or maybe black to bring out the French Knots on the flowers - what do you ladies advise?

Tisha.

Trish, that is lovely, depending in where you maybe putting this I would go for a black edging, but then I always do favour darker colours.

You have done a beautiful job and I love it. I would go with the black or a dark green

Very pretty. You can use any of the colors from the piece in the binding. Dark green, red, or black.

Wow -- very nice! (Sure you don't want to make a big king-size quilt like that???)

I think a dark green would frame it nicely.
