I wanted to see if I could do needle turn applique. I didn't leave enough fabric to turn in some areas and pulled thread to tight in others but I think I like doing the hand method, never tried it onthe machine either.

to close blurry sorry

I am trying to learn and perfect my needle turn applique, too. Hand applique is so nice, but it's the one kind of quilting I'm least comfortable with. Hopefully we'll both be making beautiful applique blocks soon, or else I'll be throwing mine in the corner and going back to piecing. lol

Your birdy is very cute. I have just learned to applique too. Thought needle turn would be to hard for me so I went with using dryer sheets.

Think with the butterfly I will try machine applique. Have help from my quilting teacher and friend and sister in the Lord. Then next time I want to try the dryer sheet so I can take with me to appts. etc. will post pics soon of wip and of the Christmas quilt I just mailed out. Have to have the time to learn to do this without reading step by step instructions !!! Tomorrow will try again.
