Default First quilt of 2017 completed.

Started making the blocks on New Years Eve . I decided to do quilt as you go . This is 54 inches square and I have made no impact at all on my scraps stash . The back is scrappy squares . I aim to make as many scrappies as I can from my enormous scrap mountain .

Very nice. I like string quilts and haven't made any in a couple of years. Thanks to your example, I will have to remedy that.

Great scrappy! I have made a big Spiderweb (done), Twist and Shout (top) and a smaller Spiderweb with my leftover blocks ( sandwiched and ready for quilting)and it didn't even put a dent in my scraps. I am all scrapped out for a while.

Looks great! Good luck- you'll need it if your scrap pile is like mine...LOL

I really like that. So cheerful. String quilts are so much fun to make--mindless and merry ! But I know what you mean about that absence of a dent in the scrap pile. Those little scraps have reproductive organs that go into overdrive when the lights are out.

Gorgeous! I love the colors in your quilt. I just assembled scraps for a king-size braid quilt and really hoped to make a huge dent in my scraps. Nope.

I'm trying to keep up with Bonnie's organizing system and it seems like a race to keep up with trimming.
