Default First quilt off my HQ 16

I recently purchased a pre-owned HandiQuilter 16 on a Hintenberg frame. There was a flyer for this machine at my favorite LQS (very close to my home) ... Such a good deal, in my price range, but I truly don't have space for a LA in my house. Anyway, the LQS owner and I worked it out that I could keep it at her shop and we would both use it. Yay!

I'd rented time on a longarm in another LQS but have learned that each machine has its own idiosyncrasies (as do DSMs). For example, bigger needle sizes are needed on a LA (size 18 for King Tut on this machine) but after one true practice quilt we loaded this Moda flannel on the frame. The quilt top has no piecing, except for the borders, which made it easier.

I'm pretty happy! Well, that's an understatement (not about the quality of my workmanship but about owning a longarm).

Happy Quilting on your "new" machine!! I'm glad you could work out an arrangement with the shop owner.

Something to think about would be whose insurance it will be under if something happens to it? Just a thought.
