I got tired of wasting thread while I tested my new machine--remember the over oiling--and goofy tension and trying to find the best thread? So, I starting sewing strips together. Then I decided to cut them up into squares--and stick them in blocks. I didn't want to worry about getting every block the same size--I have many scrap strips of various widths. I found a nice batik that will border anything that needs to be bigger. I'll work on this little by little-between other projects. But I really like it so far. As long as I stick to fallish hues, it should come out kind of nice.

Scrappy quilts are my favorite, but since most of my scraps are strips...well...this works. I know this pattern is not my idea--I've seen it somewhere. Haven't I?

This will probably be your best one yet.. only because it is just coming together without the palnning ....

Can't wait to see more of its progress!
