My grandson wanted this fabric for his room. I really have never done wall hangings........I have invisible thread would that be best for quilting. The binding will be black so will make a narrow edge. Any hints or advise

Hubby loved the fabric. I think it would be great to carry the fish into your borders with fish in the quilting. He will love it when your finshed.

Neato fish fabric. I like your borders too. Can you quilt some of the fish or would that be too much? I think the black binding will frame everything beautifully.

That stuff always reminds me of fishing line. how 'bout outlining some specific fish, and having fishing lines, hooks, and worms dangling down in between? With wall hangings, you can get away with lots of fun embellishments, too - bubbles sewn in that cool holographic thread, maybe an old tire, boot, or crayfish sneaking out onto the binding.

That's going to be a cool wall hanging! I did a large moose panel for DH, and actually found a machine embroidery moose stipple design that I put in the borders -I agree with Moonpi, its time to have some fun! I just love those border fabrics - they really let the fish panel shine!

That is awesome! Your grandson hasn't tried taking it unfinished, yet? :D

Nice material Ruth! Your grandson should love it. If you have any extra of the fishy fabric you could cut out a couple of fish to applique on the top boarder like the fish was coming up for air or maybe jumping out of the water for a fly. Have fun with it! :D
