I too think the quilt is pretty, but what caught my eye was something I've never seen done before. I could be using the wrong terms to describe them, but I call them curled feathers. I like how, at the end of the curls, you put a 'teardrop.'

The Fisher House is a very nice and comfortable place where the families of our military or vets can stay free of charge to be near their loved one who is needing care. They are located all over the country and when quilts are available they are placed in the room for the famiiy to take with them when they leave.

I did not use a pattern for this. I have a book of different stars and this one is called "the unknown star" in the book. I made up several stars...in fact, too many. I thought the corners needed something so made the smaller stars to put there. Actually, the top was going to be wider, but I didn't quite have enough of the floral to do that. So, the extra row of stars ended up on the back side.
