I made this quilt for my SIL who is on his 19th tour overseas. Yes, he is Air Force and located in a danger zone but not next to the action as he repairs the planes and tankers. He has never been sent gift boxes or other things people overseas get. I have been working with different groups to change that. He has now gotten 3 care boxes from different people other than family. He shared with all his troop. I have people working on prayer squares for these guys and gals. He has been flown all over to repair planes as he is the best they have. So I made him this quilt. I doubt he needs it over there but he is getting it anyway. I used my spraps of patriotic fabrics and Air Force fabric I have been saving. I have made him fleece throws with the Air Force logos and pillow cases but nothing like this little quilt that measures 76 1/3 inches by 107 inches. Yeah it kinda got away from me. Ha! Yes I designed it also. Well thanks for looking at his quilt. I quilted it with som QofV digital designs and drew some of my own. I love the one with clouds and planes as it looks like the tanker with planes to refuel.

DH's arms are getting tired.

Love this design with eagle and thank you on it.

19 tours! Incredible, what service to our country! I also have a SIL in the Air Force who works on the F-15s. Anxious to see your quilt! These guys and gals need more recognition.

I am sending you a PM, of a person to contact re: supporting your trooper over seas. I adopted service men / women for over 3 years, sent a box ever month till I no longer worked. ANYONE can be that person. Yes, our soldiers look forward to a wonderful goody box, full of wonders :) CHOCOLATE, chat stick that doesn't melt, books, nuts, toothpicks, dedorants, body wash, soaps, hand held games, batteries, hard candy, gun, beef jerky, When I filled that box there was not even air room. haha.... When new troops come in it is very difficult for others to pick up on some basics. each of you could be someone who adopts, maybe two of three in a family get together. It use to cost me any where from $60.00 to $100.00 plus cost of box a month..I really am a poor person.. but I made it happen. Cheap when you figure some give their life. I felt so sad to give it up. lol I even sent little toys, something to make them laugh, always wrote a fun letter, never sharing bad things state side. they see enough. I guess I could go on and on, they do need our support, (((hugs))) will send the pm with e-mail address to anyone who is interested in adopting or asking if they could get help for someone all ready over there... Not sure she can help as she works out of Nevada, but if anyone can she can hahaha.... blessings and keep helping our soldiers. :)
