I just finished requilting this pretty little thing that my hubby's mother quilted for her great granddaughter Aris,. Soooooooooo, it has been loved and handled by: Erbyl Wilson, (My mother-in-law that has passed), Cynthia Brown, (my daughter in law) Aris Brown, (my granddaughter) Judi Brown, (myself) and now on to Kinsley Christine Schwab, ( my great granddaughter). The fabric was so worn, that when Aris washed it to use for the baby, all of the quilting just disentigrated. She sent it to me, and I was able to discard the crystalized polyester batting, remove what few quilting stitches survived, I had to cut it down just a little because the shrinkage was awful, and I requilted it very tightly so that the loss of integrity in the fabric should now hold up/ I hope. Added a label honoring the 5 generations, and it will go back in the mail tomorrow. Turned out kind of cute, if it will just hold up.

hope you can zoom in on the quilting

This darling quilt has a "provenance", I hope you have written it down somewhere for future generations to read. When this quilt makes it antique status, having a provenance will add to its value. It's a beautiful story.
