It's a beautiful quilt! I'm so glad that he found it. It was just sitting there waiting for him!

The pattern goes by several names as do most block. Broken Wheel & Squirrel in a cage are two of them. I am not reall sure on the fabrics, looks like there is a pretty good mix of eras in it. There is one in there that I think looks like a 40's print but most look like probably 60's maybe late 50's. I know, I am no help!!! :D

Thanks for backing me. I told my DH that some of the fabrics were 50's and some look like 60's. His Grandparents had a Fishing Resort in Minnesota. They spent every summer there until the late 60's. That is where the ladies did their quilting. My guess is it was made in the early 60's.

I can't tell you a thing about it, but OOOHHHHHH what a nice find. I would be jumping up and down if I found this.

And yes, you are right. Put a label. Someone down the road will be very interested in the history.
