I have a base like that sitting in my backyard. I have been asking my boys to make a top with a routered edge on it so I can use it as a lamp table. Guess I will have to try and do it myself...

Since I am in a small apartment, my kitchen table is a treadle base, with a glass top on it.. It is round, and seats four.. I love it, and was looking all over for the base, and paid a lot for it..

I saw a couple of these at an antique shop mall when we were visiting in California, but they were rather expensive, closer to $300. It is a clever idea.
