Hope this is the right place to put this I found this little girl in the cellar does anyone know anything about her like is she worth fixing up she was caked in mud and I have cleaned most of it off but am leary of plugging her in. Her little gold sticker on the front says DeLuxe Family Sewing Machine Japan and inside the case on the machine it has number 14710

Beautiful machine!

Have you oiled all moving parts with sewing machine oil? If so, and if the wires are not damaged somewhere, I would probably plug her in to try her out. If the wires are old and stiff, I would probably have my husband re-wire her before using regularly.

have you checked the wiring for frays or tears? and all the places where the wiring connects to the machine and the foot pedal?

Yes ladies she does work All of her wires look good and her motor runs very quietly and I am going to thread her tomorrow and try sewing with her DH has asked that I let her dry over night due to the hard cleaning she needed she literally had mud and dirt caked into her and on her some of it flaked off in sheets I would dare say shes been there probably been in the cellar the thirtyfive years DHs family has lived in this house
