That is stunning. I collect vintage fabric when I see it at estate sales. Have some bubblegum pink yardage that looks similar to some in the quilt. It is only 36" wide!

What a wonderful quilt. You did a great job finishing it. This is a real treasure - a brand new vintage quilt.

No, my friend is in her mid-80's, but she says she remembers most of the people whose names are on the blocks. I am going to take it to her in Mid-Oct when my bro and I head to New Mexico via Texas.

I have a similar one passed down from my grandmother dated 1936. She never used it, just had it stashed somewhere. When she died in 1939 (from consumption/tuberculosis?) it went to her oldest daughter (my aunt) who saved it in a cedar chest. (She didn't use quilts.) My aunt gave it to me when she gave me her cedar chest. I treasure it, just not sure what to do with it.

Beautiful! Isn't there something beyond words wonderful when you take something like that and finish it?!! I have done a couple of those for friends of my Mom and they are truly loved. Congratulations!
