    Default Frog Fingers

A friend of mine gave me a stack of basket motifs from the local, Wintu tribe. I am planning a quilt using several of them using the colors one would find in the actual baskets, but recently when I bought a bunch of lovely batiks, it occured to me that one batik resembled the skin of a frog, so I decided to do a small wall hanging of the motif called "Frog Fingers". When I showed it to DH, he informed me that it belonged on the wall by the bed. I had no particular use in mind when I made it.

What a wonderful quilt, love the colors. I can see why he wanted it by the bed so you can look at it often! Good for you.

Thank you. My DH is my biggest fan, so this was not surprising. He was a little miffed that I am making him wait until guild meeting on Wednesday to put it up. My plan is to make a basket motif lap quilt for a Wintu friend of mine. She teaches Wintu culture/arts at a local school.
