Future Quilter in the family!
This is my DGD Vanessa's first completed quilt. We made it for her other grandmother's birthday coming on May 1st. I had some orphan blocks, she sewed them together and we added borders till it was big enough for a lap quilt. She picked the fleece for the back of it. She was tired of holding it by the last picture. haha She just turned 7 on the 7th of April

What cute fleece. She did a great job. My 7 and 9 year old DGC will be here today. Their first comment when they arrive will be, "when do we get to sew". I have a machine for each of them. I can't wait. I know you are having such fun with your future quilter!!!

she's a cutie, and very proud of her first quilt. get them while they are young, train them how to use the right tools and they'll be forever grateful to you for learning the habit, err...craft. she did a great job.

It is always so much fun to have a grandchild want to do what we do! I was thrilled when my granddaughter at age 5 decided she wanted to begin sewing her own skirts. She is 11 now, and designs quilts and "hands free - Over The Shoulder Bags". She is trying to begin her own business.
