Default Gave a Thread Painting Workshop

My friends and I gathered at Creative Sisters in Kitchener last Friday and we did some Thread Painted Birds. After guiding them through some of the pitfalls with a simple Chickadee, they went on to more challenging species. Here's a sample. I can hardly wait to see the finished products at our next get together.

So it looks like you start with a printed image like a greeting card?

Great birds! Do you applique them after removing the stabilizer?

Yes. I find this is a really "cheap and dirty" way to do something a little different.

MK- always great to see what your creative mind is up to - fabulous, as usual. Gotta love these birds

How cool! Thanks for the inside peak of the process. I had no idea they were only done on stabilizer and actually colored in before stitching.

Beautiful birds. I had seen this technique before but it must be fun to do with friends. Have FUN!
