DH is sleeping in today, so I've had a chance to get started on the quilting on his birthday quilt. This is just a little smaller than a twin quilt that he can use on the sofa or in his office on the chilly winter evenings. It was quick to put together by strip piecing a Moda jelly roll. I believe this pattern is called "Chinese Coins".

I've only got about 3 weeks to get this done (all the while, out of his sight), so it's been a welcome opportunity this morning.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what motif to use in the sashing also???

I like this quilting pattern that you have used; works well with the leaf/earthy theme.

It's really a luscious quilt! I'm sure he will love it. If not, you can send it my way!

Beautiful... Prefest colors too! I would maybe try a little swirly pattern in the sashings or vines with smaller leaves just kind of scattered on the vine. Nice quilting job so far.
