Default Giraffe quilt

I just finished binding my dgd giraffe quilt for her b-day. She has had a disney princess quilt since she was 4, and told her mom (my dd) "no offense, but I have outgrown the princess quilt" so they had to get a throw for her bed when friends come over...she still wants to sleep with it, just not display it for her grown up 9yr old friends! So....she doesn't know it is coming, but I think it turned out nice. When I was describing it to her mom, she asked if it had turquoise in it....No, this was animal prints and has a soft pink batik to match her walls.....better add turquoise, cause that's the fav color right now. Oh, boy! rethink and do a little creative piecing on the "piano key" border, and voila, turquose!
There are several embroidered squares and several fussy cut squares with lots and lots of strips of giraffe prints from things I have made her in the past. I think she will have fun identifying some skirts and dresses and nities~

Looks perfect for a big girl. I like how the corners of your border are, have to remember as I do lot of piano key borders on my scrappies.
