Default Girl with the Pearl Earring - Take Two

Well, when at first you don't succeed, try, try again. So that's what I did. One of the Craftsy courses that I am taking is called Thread Art. In it, the project is stitching the "Girl with the Pearl Earring" (see initial post here - http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t196820.html). As you can see, the eyes didn't turn out too well. So, I started all over. Eyes are MUCH better, but somehow I managed to spread color across the effect lines, or what-ever they're called. So I tried the Tide stick, got some of it out. And in one of my brighter moments (NOT!), I decided that Clorox on a Q-tip would work. Well, it also bleached the fabric. So I may end up coloring the accent lines, but thought that I would go ahead and post it while I'm waiting for the Clorox to dry. Ha!

Anyway...

This is so awesome! It is so like the painting. My husband and I were fortunate to see the original painting when we visited the Hague a few years ago. Also went through the Escher museum. I would love to do something of his in a quilt.
