My wife and I went to the local sewing maching dealer today since they were having a 30% off sale on all of their sewing supplies. We both got a lot of "stuff" that we needed. :) While there, I was browsing around the sewing machines, dreaming, wishing... Well, my resistance was low, so I decided to upgrade to a better machine.

My old machine was a Brother NX650Q Quilt Club machine. It was really nice and all, but this new one is a Brother QC-1000 and it is like driving a Cadillac. Has a huge table, all sorts of fun features, etc. They gave me a really good trade-in on my old machine, and this new one was 40% off. But what's REALLY great about the deal is that Brother is doing a rebate with this machine where you get a FREE Brother embroidery machine with it!

So here's a pic of the Brother QC-1000 that I bought:

And here's a pic of the embroidery machine that I got free with it. I have to send in the rebate form and Brother will ship it direct to me:

I'll use the embroidery machine to make labels for my quilts, probably do some embroidery on quilts, and it'll also be a backup machine in case I need to have my main new machine serviced.

So it's been a good day! :D

I have the QC 1000 as well, and I LOVE it! It really hurts me to say that I prefer this over both my Bernina 440QE and Pfaff Performance 2056. It's smooth as silk and the features are outstanding. Isn't the "My Stitch" feature amazing? I've never seen anything like it before.

You made a great choice. It's a top quality machine at a great price. You can't beat that!

Enjoy your new baby!,
Lyn

Oh, one more thing! The handle should be underneath the cone thread attachment, not in front of it.

I've had mine for about a year and a half, so if you have any questions, drop me a line. The manual is a bit fragmented and there are so many features and functions, it can be a bit bumfuzzling.

Hugs,
Lyn
