Default Granddaughter's Birthday Lap Quilt

I made this for my granddaughter who will be seven this week. Her Mom 'sneaked' her outgrown clothes to me over a year ago and I just now got around to making the quilt. I love the pattern and made the dresses cut from her old clothes.

I added some applique with decorations cut from the original items, including tags and labels. The quilt was a bit thick where the dresses (with heat and bond) were so I did not quilt over them but added white heart buttons to them.

I gave it to her today and she was remembering what the dresses had originally been. It was a good gift for her!

That is so clever and think how she will be able to identify everyone of those clothes she use to wear!
