My granddaughter was at my house when the charm packs arrived. The reason I got these charm packs is she seen the fabrics and loved them....so I got three, planning to make a falling charms quilt for her.

Instead, she laid the three charms packs out and said, 'OH, Mamaw--they make a heart! You can make me a heart quilt.' So, that is where the pattern come from. I looked on line at heart images and seen a quilt with hearts that look like these, and saw one that used the framed square as the alternate block. And that is how this quilt came to be.

The one thing I did not tell is I first made a set of the framed squares and I used a pink that was from this fabric line...it had tiny dark pink/red flowers. When I put the blocks on the design wall, the fabric was just dark enough till it was like bull's eyes...totally drew the attention away from the hearts. So if anyone makes this, be careful what you chose for the alternate block.
