Hi everyone. A few months back, I posted a pic of a quilt top that a friend found among his mother's things after she had passed away. He asked if I could finish it. She put the hexs together all by hand. I squared it off, added the borders, and made the back. A fellow QB member, Barb (PTQUILTS), did the hand quilting for me, and what a fabulous job she did! I finished the binding, and thought you might like to see the finished quilt. It was a real trip down memory lane for me and Barb, as we both enjoyed seeing old calicos that we all remember. Every piece of fabric was from my friend's mom's stash.
thank you for looking.
kathy

He loved it - I gave it to him yesterday.

That is so pretty! It reminds me of the quilts that my late Aunt Rita used to make... she loved those calicoes!

What a terrific outcome! I am sure your friend is very thankful for both of you and your hard work in completing this for him. A treasured heirloom!

Really like the look of this scrappy hexagon quilt. It's great that it was finally finished and is now ready to use.
