Default Grandmother's quilt 1922

Deep down I think this is the one that got it all started. Like I don't have enough iron's in the fire.
Goldie Blanch Burns made this quilt as she lay in bed recovering from a Copperhead Snake bite on her foot.

Beautiful, especially when you consider how it was made. Looks like it been much loved and much used. I hope you treasure it.

I found something similar to this when my father in law passed away in 2001. We were going through some of his things and I found a trunk that had old quilts in it and in the bottom was a quilt top. Such a great find to work on and finish for my husband.

Yes, this is a treasure. Not just for me but my family as well. I have tried to instell a love of history in my kids, I just hope it takes. People don't realize just how much of are American history is thrown away every day.
