Granny has been wanting to go through her yarns, crochet cottons and fabric and give them to us (mom and I), and we're all going to do it together. I planned to give her this quilt when we get together for that...well, Mom called me yesterday saying Granny was asking her when we're going to do this, that she wants to do it soon. AHH! I had my rows sewn for the center of the top, but hadn't yet put them together, still needed to piece the outer border, plus sandwiching, basting, quilting, binding...Oh my! I told mom "Just push until next weekend. That will be plenty of time for me to get this finished...next weekend!" lol Last night I sat down at my machine and got the center of the top together. This morning, I got the inner border on, pieced the outer, and got that one on too! The top is done and now I have a whole week to take my time and quilt it. DH is going out of the country on Wednesday, so I'll have a bit more free time to quilt and not feel guilty about leaving him all alone (because he doesn't have a hobby!)

Wonderful colors. l love the irish chain pattern. It was one of the first patterns I made many, many years ago. That quilt was literally loved to death :)

Very nice quilt, she will love it, so sweet of you to make this for her. I have the same issue as you with my hubby having NO hobby, uuggghhh! He doesn't mind I quilt, I just wish he had some hobby too.

Good luck getting it completed, now go quilt.
