This quilt was given to my Mama by her Grandma in 1962. As far as I know it was never quilted. It spent years on my bed when I was a kid and it has been tied to many backings including an Army blanket.

Over the years, the sashing became tattered. The blocks were never all that well done, but I decided it deserved to be saved anyway. I took it all apart and gave it new sashing and corner stones. The large holes in some of the blocks needed to be patched so I added the butterflies. I then quilted butterflies into the blocks, a diamond chain into the sashings and straight lines and butterflies for the borders. It is still not perfect, but it is saved from the trash.

I disagree with you. It IS perfect! It's very pretty and the butterflies are a great touch.
Your great grandmother would be proud of you for caring enough to save it!
