Default A Granny Squares quilt for my oldest and a simple quilt for me

For my oldest little girl, I made a "granny squares" quilt from Riley Blake Lost and Found sparkly fabric. She wanted it reversible with a purple back.

Here she is standing in front of it, she loves it

I made this one for me, I love brightly colored patchwork. It's Anna Maria Horner LouLouThi fabrics.

I used a vintage sari from the thrift store to back it. It is super soft and silky:

More info, including the story of the sparkly fabric, and the link to the tutorial for the "granny squares" block are on my blog:

    Thanks for looking <3

Love them both. I've been eyeing fabrics like your LouLou prints. And my daughter and I were just talking today about backing her quilts in a silky fabric. Was it difficult to quilt? I love love love yours.

That sari is spectacular! And I love your quilts! Your DD looks super happy with hers & why not? It's fabulous! Thank you so much for the link. I think that pattern would be awesome made from Civil War repros (or batiks, or 30's... LOL!).

I have never seen a granny square block before that I can recall. I love that you used the soft sari on the back of the one. What a great idea.
