I bought this Bali Pop awhile ago and have been dying to make something with it. I've been in Florida for a month and am now bonding again with my "Brother"!!! Do you think this layout is OK? Too much Light? Too much Dark? Have have extra blocks to use.

The colors are great, but to me the center is shouting and grabbing too much attention...Looks like the center only has 2 fabrics instead of the 4, could you just put a narrow frame around the center to change the look.

The centre block and the middle left block are grabbing too much attention. The rest of the quilt is quite balanced. When I look as the middle left block, all I see is a spool block which doesn't really gel with the rest of the quilt. As the blocks are all the same, I know it has to be the colour, so I would try shuffling a few blocks to create a better balance. The colours are great and it should be a wonderful quilt.

Actually the center is the focal point for the Large border fabric that I will be using. Not a good idea?

Yes it is. From the Strip Tubing Book from Cozy Quilt designs. But I'm just making a wall hanging right now.

The middle block doesn't bother me since it's central, but I agree that the one to the left of the center is a little too dark compared to the others, you should see if you can switch it out with another that balances better with the rest. Oh and the one in the top left corner, you show rotate two diagonals because you have a square with all the same fabrics in the middle, which you don't have with all the others if that makes sense .... Other than that I love it!!
