It Grew In The Making!
This quilt began as an experiment in making hourglass/QST blocks. Then, I added four-patches. Then I added some more four-patches. Then I added a border. Then I added another border... Let's just say it grew improvisationally.
I like the way it turned out ( I love red in almost all its incarnations), but I wonder if the color combinations are too radical for the average bear? I was planning to give it as a gift, but I don't want to scare the recipient to death! I really would like your honest opinions here--if it is too radical, I'll keep it for myself and make another for my friend.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
I did a sneaky thing. I posted the quilt on Facebook, and the friend I made it for (a surprise gift) said she loved it. What a relief! She will be really surprised to get it in the mail next week.
