Default Guild Challenge--Sunglasses Needed

We are supposed to use our birth month flower (poppy) and gemstone (periodot) and make a quilt. I had seen some fabric with poppies that I really liked when I remembered this fabric that I bought when I first started quilting and hadn't really given a lot of consideration to many things, but it was inexpensive. It is called "Poppy Love" by Ro Gregg. So I used the panel and I had seen a Swirly Girls pattern that I really liked. So I worked up my own variation on EQ7 and went to work. Seems that I have been working on it for months with all the holidays. Anyway, here it is and it is bright. My DGD told me that there could be a hundred quilts and only one of mine and she could pick it out. A jeweler told me that there were several variations of the green color in periodot so this had green and I thought it would work. I see things I wish I had done differently, but I am considering it DONE! Hope everyone's New Year is off to a wonderful start.

My birth stone is Periodot too. Yay for being born in August, and good for me I really like the color green too. Love your quilt. And now I know that the flower of the month is Poppy. Learn something everyday.

Beautifully done! You did a great job of picking up the colors from your center panel to create the look of a field of flowers.

What a fun idea for a challenge--I could do gold chrysanthemums.
