This is the project I took when we went camping a couple of weeks ago. The blocks are all being hand pieced. I am really surprised at how fast it is going! I will probably send out a cry for help on the border. Karen Combs pattern does not call for a border, but I think it will need one.

That is very COOL!

I love hand piecing when we are camping! I find it very relaxing. I always keep one project in the works to do solely by hand and work on it only when camping or traveling. I have found I can do hand piecing, applique, or quilting in the truck while riding.

ALready looking like a beautiful quilt. You are so very lucky to be able to sew while riding in a vehicle. Not me, sick within two minutes. Great though for you, no time wasted. Be sure to post your progress. Thanks for sharing

It was so funny - there was another thread started today about what machine to take while RVing. Same problem - the machine I would use for piecing is too heavy to take with me (and who wants to be locked up in the trailer or at the picnic table when camping?). The hand piecing I thought would be tedious and slow but turns out it isn't AND my seams are REALLY accurate!!! I may get dizzy with possibilities! Curved piece quilts??? ahhhhh
