Hand pieced quilt quilted by Feline Fanatic

This hand pieced quilt came to me for quilting. I posted a sneak peek here: how I come up with a quilting motif

Now the quilt is done. A hand pieced quilt definitely had some challenges. The client wanted me to re-inforce the seams with quilting so I had to come up with a motif that went through the center of each hexi formed by the kite shaped units. She felt that was where it needed the most reinforcement. She also wanted SITD to help reinforce as well. At first we weren't going to quilt the blue "sashing" diamonds but they were so wavy I had to quilt them pretty heavily to work in all the fullness so I chose pebbling.

Here is the quilt before quilting:

And some back shots. I love how the back came out. The quilt is reversable because the back looks like a wholecloth

Oh no, I didn't hand piece it. I quilt for others so the customer hand pieced it. I only longarm quilted it. My customer told me a year of her life was in this quilt so I tried to be as thoughtful as possible. When she brought it to me she said, "don't look to closely at my piecing". I laughed and said, "My job isn't to critique your work it is to try and help make it more pretty". I hope she feels I achieved that.

Do you hand guide or is your machine computerized. You did a great job of defining the design of that quilt.
