hand quilting project

Cheryl,
Great job. Isn't handquilting relaxing? I also use colored thread when doing a tone on tone etc. I did a queen size white on white with blue thread. I wanted the stitches to show. It also helps to keep you on your toes to make your stitches as even as possible.

I LOVE hand quilting for stress relief. I can really get lost in it.
Colored thread does make me more conscious of my stitches. But once I get in the groove, my stitches all look good to me!
Your work is gorgeous, and the quilt will surely be a treasure!

Your work is beautiful! I'm always amazed at how hand quilting changes the quilt, always for the better! I'm afraid it's becoming a lost art. Your quilt will be treasured for years to come--great work!

Thank you all for the kind words. As far as the ability to hand quilt- until recently, I never knew it could be done any other way. I taught myself- read some books and because I've sewn since I was 4, I knew how to handsew. So this wasn't hard. Actually it's very relaxing.
Try it, you'll like it.
