SpongeBob Quilt
My DGD Rowan is in love with SpongeBob. Her 5th birthday is 5/19 so I asked her what her favorite colors are. She said green and pink. So I found fabric with green and pink and also yellow and orange. Not my favorite mix of colors, but on Sunday I was piecing the quilt and she walked in on me (the quilt was supposed to be a surprise.) She screamed 'SPONGEBOB!!!!' I asked her 'Rowan, do you think anybody would really like to have this quilt????' and she say, 'Duh, yeah! ME, ME, ME!!!!' So I guess she likes it.
The borders will be pink, green, yellow and orange. The backing is 'boring' ultra silky muslin. (hey, I had to use some fabric I liked!) Also plan on putting in some random chennile circles on the blocks, in hot pink, lime green, and bright yellow.
If you knew Rowan - you'd know this is just her style. Here's a pic of her quilt and another pic of Rowan hugging her big sis, Jordan.
