Handquilting in circles isn't THAT bad after all
I've been diligently working on my DD's queen-size quilt for a few weeks now. She really (really) wanted circles, but I wasn't sure if I could tolerate going round and round (and round!) for a quilt that big. Well, since I wanted to try posting on this new format, I figured I'd take a picture of how far I've gotten so far. AND, it really isn't THAT bad. I have this cool sit-on lap top quilting frame that spins, and it's making the job a LOT easier. I really like how the inside of the circles ended up looking almost like a snails trail. TOTALLY unintentional, but cute anyway.
Just wanted to share. I am HOPING to get this done for Christmas, but I'm not sure if it's gonna happen. Hopefully this thread comes through ok!

Thanks everyone. I think I learned a lot by doing this quilt. I concentrated on the journey rather than the finish line, and refused to put a strict deadline to finish it. I am able to sit and quilt and totally enjoy the process. I was literally shocked this week when I realized I'm about 1/2 way finished! At this rate, it SHOULD be finished by Christmas, but if it's not it is no biggie. Quilting should be all about doing what makes us happy and just having fun without putting any unnecessary pressure on ourselves. I feel like handquilting is like having the ability of giving a little piece of me to someone I love. AND, the more I do, the easier it gets! I only bent ONE needle so far.
