Harley Davidson Quilt finally finished Sept 2013
Take a look - it's a long time in the making. This was started in 2012 - my Sister asked if I'd make her a Harley quilt. I Designed, Pieced, and Custom Quilted it with flames, eagles, and unusual echoing in the side diamonds.
I will have this and another quilt in the Asheville Quilt show next week. This is my best work yet!!
It's quilted with flames and eagles. In the side diamonds I put the Christian Motorcycle Assoc. logo. The back is pieced, plus appliqued with initials. Some fabrics and the large emblem is preprinted and licensed. You can tell the backing fabric is. I have many "firsts" with this quilt such as mitered corners, fire quilting in the borders, etc. I used black batting since the front is jet black Kona fabric and the thread is Yli Mach quilting 40 wt. black. I lined the backing fabric with white so it would not look grayish with the black batting behind it.
I do not have a longarm machine. During all this my life was crazy with moving to another state.

Very nicely done. I have a set of those HD Sheets. About the only way you will ever find HD fabric is to to buy the sheets or use bandanas or make a T-shirt quilt. You did a fantastic job on this. any way you can try to post a picture so we can see the quilting? It sounds fabulous. You can usually get the quilting to show by laying the quilt flat and getting a light source off to one side. Then you can often pick up the quilting in a photo.
