Default Harley Davidson quilt for my brother...

Hi all,
Here is a pic of the Harley Davidson quilt I made for my brother. There isn't a lot of quilting, mainly because I never can figure out what will look good with applique and or the patches like I used on this quilt. I usually just do a type of outline quilting, about 1/8" away from the seams. On this one I also did 4 different large shapes in the squares with the all over cycle fabrics: the wings, the Harley shield, the cross, and the skull with the hat...but you can't see them due to the busyness of the fabric unless you're up close and know what you're looking for. My quilting friends told me it would be futile for me to do the shapes, for this very reason...but I had planned to do them, and did them anyway. I guess at least I know they are there...lol.

Great job! Maybe I should put my thinking cap on and try to make one for DD.... she is a motorcycle mechanic... I've never really been interested in making a t-shirt one, but this looks interesting!

Great Harley quilt and perfect fabric you put with the patches!

Thanks! Actually my dh helped with some of the fabric choices...I don't think I would've ever chosen the orange and blue combo...Though it grew on me...

Thimblebug6000, That's great your dd is a motorcycle mechanic...and I agree, I didn't want to make a T shirt quilt either. I'm not knocking them, they're just not for me. If we all liked the same things, how dull this world would be.

That is a great quilt your brother will cherish it. Love the orange and blue flame fabric it keeps those blocks from getting lost.

Any Harley fan would love that quilt. Plus it's actually nice to look at, great job with the color.
