Default help please mystery block

I purchased this UFO about 3 years ago at a country store, since then I have tried to figure out the pattern but no success, I have about 60 of the two pieces and a few of the others, can anyone recognize this pattern/block? I love UFO mainly because it saves me all the cutting, but this one got me stumped!

all I can say is just keep playing with it. I'm sure you will eventually figure it out. I like this kind of stuff too.

The fabrics seem to be coordinating so why not just a scrappy quilt? I like the fabrics very much and if nothing else it will make someone happy when received as a charity quilt. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Sounds like it could be incomplete so you may never match all the pieces 100%.
I'd say just play with it and try to mix and match as many pieces as you can.
Maybe you'll find a design that you like and go with it. Happy sewing.
Show us what you come up with. ok?

Just looking at the large triangles, I can't help but wonder if those are scraps. Reason - if you take a 1/4" seam, the points (where the three fabrics join) will be lost, completely. The pieces resemble trimmed pieces of diamond strips, which were trimmed from a larger block/piece. Pretty fabrics; I'd also use them in a scrappy quilt.

Do these pieces go back together to form a square. Maybe it was a "slash" type block.

I'm thinking these are trimmings - notice how pointless all the units are?

You could just put them together 'crazy quilt' style?
