Here is my camping quilt
This is my second quilt, but the first I machine quilted. I don't dare take a close up pic of the machine quilting.. but for my first time, I am pretty proud of it. I used tissue paper as my stencil. I need to find something else because the tissue paper is pretty slick.
I need to work on the tension as the back has little balls of thread all over.

Have you tried the gold paper that is sold in fabric stores? I'm just learning to quilt also - we have to start somewhere and we grow with each project we do,. This looks very nice. Most of us don't look at the back anyway! There are so many things to remember to check when quilting!!!

thanks, I live out in the middle of know where and the local quilting shop didn't have the quilting paper. I was pretty bummed. I am going to a bigger town shortly and I hope to stop and pick some up.

I think your camping quilt is cute. Are you sure the little balls on the back are thread and not batting? I learned over the years that if the batting is not put on correctly the action of quilting will force little pieces of batting through the backing and look like little white/cream balls all over the place. There is a right and wrong side of the batting!
