I tried to work on it but with no success. So I tore it apart today just to where I have the big blocks left. Startched and ironed them then I pulled out my 6 1/2 in ruler and started cutting them into SQ's. Here are a few I have done so far I think I am gonna like this better.
Thank you to all of you that gave me great suggestions.

There is no pattern to go by. I work better without a pattern. I think that may have been the problem with the other way I was doing it.

The small triangles are not gonna line up but I can live with that.
