I got the patterns from the tut's section. My Carpenter's star (from Dannar) I used 5 in and 5 1/2 in blocks which made a nice size for the middle of a quilt. As for the Star spin, (from Rooten) I think I totally mis-read the directions and this is what I came up with. There was a lot of hair pulling LOL! It's on my kitchen table though and it's going to stay.

This is actually done in blues but the picture made it look black.

Those are both wonderful. I love the colors in the second one and the pattern of the first. Great job on both and thanks for sharing.

Your star spin isn't right, but I really like it. You just invented a new pattern. I tried to make one too, but I didn't even get that far. I had trouble with the directions also.

I think they are both pretty. I have a book of one block quilts, throw size and really like it. Maybe I didn't explain that right. Each quilt is one big block!
