Default Here's #5 on 2013 mission to use up scraps

Just off the frame. My version of stacked coins. Not a good picture, it is prettier in person, second pic is better. I offset the squares to give some movement, also less seams to match. Quilted with allover feathered leaf pattern in varigated thread in browns, golds, yellow and bits of red. Used high loft poly batting for first time. I like that is more fluffy.

My pics usually look like that because behind where I hang them is a wall size bank of windows where I can look out and see the river, also brightens up my sewing room. Unfortunately the sun comes in that direction most of the day so it taxes my limited picture taking skills. May have to start taking them at night.

So very pretty!!! Also it is such a work saving idea to offset the blocks - not to mention that it is more interesting.

Very pretty. Reminds me of stained glass. Love your idea of offsetting your squares. Very clever and effective!
