I bought this fabric to make a baby quilt. I founf out that the baby is a girl. I'm using the fabric anyway. what can i do to make it look sorta girlie? i think bacause of the stripe that i will either put a red block in the corners oradd a piece in the border to make it fit. i have some red ric rac that i could use. Everyone on this board has great ideas and are so ceative, i thought that i would ask you. What do you think? the parents of this little girl are big dog lovers and run a doggy daycare.

Your quilt will be a hit for baby, with the red/black/and white features! Good show!
As a girl, I can say that I would PROUDLY wrap my baby girl in your quilt ... (no sexism in these old bones! LOL) <wave>
oh, all right ... a bit of rickrack and some lace and ribbon would probably not detract too much <g>

Girls like puppies! I think it is real cute. I would add a narrow red border on the outside of the black one.

I think your quilt will fit for any baby.

As mentioned in others, little girls like puppies too.

Love the fabric and pattern :D:D:D
Rick rack, prairie points, a ruffle around the edges instead of binding...
I can't wait to see what you decide :D:D:D

I like the quilt! Maybe add some ribbons.

Do you recall a post about making little blankets with the ribbons hanging out of the sides so the little kids could play with the ribbons? I can't think of where the thread was, but it gave some texture to the project, to be sure! <wave>

I think it is so cute. Girls do like puppies too! What do you think about a ruffled edge out of the lighter paw print fabric to lighten it up. I thnk we tend to use lighter fabrics for girlie.
I know my almost 5year old DGD would LOVE it!

If you really feel a need to "girl it up" (which, personally, I don't think it needs) but if you do, I'd put a little eyelet trim sewn into the border and/or the binding.

I think a red ruffle around the edge would "girl" it up nicely. It's precious, I'm sure she'll love it!
