Default HST quilts

I am very fond of HST patterns, including those that are oversized blocks. I have probably made a couple dozen of them, but most of my quilt pix went missing when I changed computers (neat birthday present). (Don't worry, I am certain they are still around, but DH helpfully transferred data for me while I was getting ready for our quilt show and all the pix went into a single file with no sub-folders. I have not sorted them out yet.) I made one 8 point star flimsy this morning. The scrappy friendship star is another I made since I got this computer.

I have taught a couple of classes in HST construction, including oversized HSTs. Many, if not all blocks work as oversized blocks for quick quilts. I particularly like using oversized blocks for larger scaled prints, both novelty prints and more traditional ones. One person in my most recent class decided to make king sized quilt of 4 wild goose chase blocks + borders. I'll try again with the first.

Very nice! My favorite block is the HST because there are so many ways you can position the blocks in a quilt and get a different look every time. You did a great job with yours!
