    Default I actually finished something!

    I finished this a little while ago but I was holding onto it. there is for sure a story with this one, every time I look at it I start crying. My husband LOVES the Toronto Maple Leafs so when we were dating I bought this material at a quilt show. We have been married for 2 years now so I think I've had it for about 5yrs. It's a baby quilt... for my baby! I'm 18weeks today, due mid May. When I started the quilt I knew it was going to have special meaning for me. In April my little brother passed away and he too liked the leafs, so the center is his T-shirt. It was really important for me to have something of my brothers with my baby. I brought it to my guild meeting and used it to tell the guild members that I was expecting... at first they didn't clue in, it took a little bit but they got it.

    Well, Congratulations!!! And I'm sure your baby will enjoy it, and treasure the special meaning of it long after he has gotten too big for it to "fit".
    Very cute quilt!

    Great Job on the quilt- very clever way to break the news and how touching to make sure your brother is a part of the baby {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}

    Very nice - I too have special meaning for grandchildrens quilts though. Made a sunbonnet sue with fabric from my grandmother and mother; aunts, cousins, special friends. Some have passed already and our daughter just cried when she recognized the fabrics. Then used another piece of fabric from grandmother (cowboy print) for grandson due any day. They keep saying why do you keep all this stuff(fabric) I now say because it needs to be for the right person/occasion. Now they are getting it. I think anyway. LOL . Congradualtions and wrap your baby with your quilt of memories and love.

    Your story touched my heart. Congrats on expecting and am sure your child will treasure this quilt because of your story and the love of your brother.
