your first real quilt and your flying geese already look better than mine. It is a very cute baby blanket and i'm sure she will just love it! Great job.

First time making geese too! I did them with HSTs and I glued my pieces per a tutorial on here about using glue for piecing. I'm a little OCD sometimes. haha.
