I am testing a ruler out for the hunters star, I LOVE IT...but what i made seems "off" I am unsure of it,I was going for a patriotic themed wall hanging for my father for fathers day...

I don't know if it is my border choices or what...but i need some suggestions.

Thanks

I would use the flag fabric for the back. I think it distracts from your design. I would put a white faux piping between the blue and red.........JMHO

Hi Kim I like it and for sure use the flag on the back. The faux piping is like a skinny folded fabric strip that is sewn in, between the red and blue. so it is more like an accent take a 3/4 inch strip and fold it in half lay it between the red and blue with the fold tothe inside and see if you like it if so then make strips for the length and width of your project. Like a small binding??? I'm confused LOL. Where exactly would you put it, in the border fabrics or in-between all the triangles on the front? LOL, I'm soooo confused lol.

I appreciate your help :-)

Ditto. The following link is for a pipping with a cord. The faux pipping is done without any cord. It adds a 3 dimensional look to the border.

Red, white and blue fabric used together looks patriotic on it's own  and your blocks look beautifully patriotic by themselves :D:D:D
The flag fabric is a little too busy looking to me for the front of the quilt, but would make a beautiful backing :D:D:D

I love your quilt. It looks very patriotic. I would agree, use the flag fabric for the back.
