I was told it dates to the 1850's
Does anyone here have any knowledge on these fabics.
Hopefully the pics will attach.

nice quilt..can't tell you about the fabrics..but it does look like some of the civil war fabics i have, but mine r reproduction..

pretty, no idea of age, but it looks in brand new shape, not worn or faded. That would make me doubt the age. Repo fabrics can be used to fool people into thinking thry are getting something old when it isn't. I hope yours IS old!

The fabric seems to be in awfully good shape to be over 150 years old??? However old it is; it's beautiful! :D

See if your lqs has info on an apprasier in your area...or maybe in your phone book for one ?

It is just a top? not quilted correct? If it was from the time you thought and hand quilted it would be easier to date. Just my thought...

the stripe do not know but the plaid is from the early fiftys that is 1950s.. had a dress with the green same pattern my mom made..it is pretty and the brown patterns is from that time also..

I totally agree with you; however it's not quilted.
I just looked at back again and the actual blocks are hand stitched but the sashing s are not. This is not reproduction fabric of that I am sure...I just can't seem to find anything to date it to in my books.
