I want to make a quilt to donate to our fire dept because we are building a new fire station. This is some of the fabric I have, more is coming. I ordered the firemen and a mottled red and mottled orange fabric. What pattern would work? I thought I would make various sized rectangles to highlight the firemen, station and dalmation. Ideas please...

Quilt pattern? What were you saying? Sorry, those cute firemen distracted me. Just make something and hurry up! LOL! I might need a smoke later. I'm bad, I know. Don't tell my mom.

Um, where did you get that fabric?

I bought some fire truck fabric to make a quilt for a guy I work with who is also a fireman, but I can't think of nay good patterns for it.

I got this at my LQS, but I found more online at the fabricdepot and it was on sale for 5.00 a yard. That is what I am waiting for, should be here any day now. I want to finish it before Sept because the state fire convention would be an excellent place to make lots of money, especially if the women are around. The firemen are called ready for action by Alexander Henry. He also has other jobs on fabric. It will be fun working with anyway. The guy with just the shorts on looks just like my husband- in my dreams lol.

Joanne Fabrics has that fabric. I almost bought it since I am collecting fireman fabric also but didn't get that particuliar fabric. They also have a few new fireman fabrics that are really cool.

I had some of that same fabric, last year, so made it into pillow cases for the volunteer fire dist. raffle/auction/door prize event that we had last year for Halloween. Some just wanted to buy the pillow cases & we sold them for $20.00 EACH!!!!! The ladies just fell in luv with them.

Also made some with "pin-up girls" for the guys. They also were a BIG hit.

Thank you Bevanger for the link to the pattern!

this fabric is great.

i would do a 9 patch pizzazz so you can use big squares and highlight the fireman fabric.
