I found this hidden away in my parent's basement. My mother was never a sewer and I only remember her using this once when I was in 1st grade to make mini Christmas stockings. I used it a couple of times in the 80's and then totally forgot about it. Between them moving and then my mother passing away in 2004, I never thought about it again. I started seeing these beautiful old machines showing up on the board, and it sparked a thought. I happened to mention it to my daddy, and he said he thought it was in the basement. AND IT WAS!! The black case is musty spelling and is airing out in the garage. This is exactly how I found the machine with all the parts. I have yet to even dust it off! Off to the machine shop this weekend!

According to the serial number the manufacturing began January 29th, 1957. That makes it 2 years older than I am!

I can't wait to get it serviced and be able to sew!!

Wow, that is beautiful!! I'm so glad your father still had it. In looking at your pictures it just dawned on me that the feet we use today really haven't changed much. Guess it is one of those "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of things. I'm very happy for you and know you will treasure it.
